Joel A. Levine

Joel was educated at the University of Michigan, receiving his B.A. degree in 1960 and his J.D. degree in 1963. Joel has more than 30 years of progressively responsible management experience, directing as many as 300 employees and in companies with revenues of more than $100 million. While working in the steel service center industry, he served as Chief Operating Officer, Chief Legal Officer and Co-Chief Executive Officer. Joel has excellent skills in administration, finance, human relations, marketing, sales and operations, including production processing, scheduling and distribution in a multi-location environment. Joel's leadership at the Wabash-Lagrange Steel Company was instrumental in its growth from a $3 million company to a nearly $60 million company when it was sold in 1988. Joel is of counsel to the law firm of Spengler Nathanson P.L.L., Toledo, Ohio, and, prior to assuming that position, was President of Joel A. Levine & Associates, providing business consulting services to small and intermediate-size companies. He is a trained mediator, having completed a course of study at the Capital University Law School in June 1992, with an emphasis on business dispute resolution. Joel has been a participant in labor and business arbitrations, union negotiations and acted as a hearing officer representing a medical center regarding the removal of privileges from a staff physician to practice medicine at the medical center. He serves on the boards of directors of other operating companies and has been continuously active in community affairs.
